It is a pre-compressed and stitch-bonded glass-fi ber nonwoven which is embedded and volumized with thermoplastic microspheres. This core material is particularly suitable for wet-in-wet processes to make solid, but light and homogenous laminates. These outstanding characteristics result from the complete impregnation with approx. 40 vol.% of the same resin used for the covering layers.
This sandwich material replaces balsa wood, PVC foam and other core materials. Sphere.core SBC also offers the advantage that it can easily be adapted to three-dimensional molds. It is available in 6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm thickness.
Sphere.core SBC HT has an improved resistance to higher temperatures as well as higher compressive strength during the manufacturing process. It is suitable for all resin systems, including epoxy and polyester foam resins.
For light, thick and long-term durable laminates.
